Rowboat Oar Blade Wrapped With Duct Tape And Varnished
Category: Rowboat, oar, oar repair, blade, duct tape, fix
The overall objective for any of my accessories for my boats is to try to do as minimal modifications to the original product as possible.
Problem: The old rowboat that I acquired had oars that had some places where the ends of the blades were split.
Action: As a quick repair to perhaps avoid having to buy a set of oars, I wrapped duct tape around the area of the blade that was split and then coated the oar with varnish. I particularly soaked the tip to seal it off from moisture.
Result: It worked great! As you know there is nothing quite like duct tape!
