Kayak Dolly – Dinghy Accessory
Category: Boat dolly, add-on, small boat, canoe
Problem: The Folbot Boat Cart kayak caddy that came with my kayak that I have modified in another idea, is designed so the flat bottom of the kayak sits on top of the caddy bars. I wanted to use this caddy to move around my Sunfish as well as my Walker Bay 8, and another canoe. However, since the other boats I wanted to use it with have keels, they did not sit evenly on the caddy.
Action: I created a simple removable frame, that is secured to the caddy frame by lines, that has two supports running lengthwise that would allow a boat with a shallow keel to sit firmly on the caddy. If I want to use it with the kayak, the attachment is easy to remove.
Result: It worked great!
