Sailing Canoe Mid-Canoe Mounting Platform, Console, Seat
Category: Sailing canoe, canoe, cruiser, mounting platform
Problem: I have many different lines coming back to the stern of the canoe, and I needed a place to mount various cleats and line bags, as well as have a seat where someone could potentially sit.
Action: I placed two boards, 1” x 6” tongue-in-groove, next to each other, to span the width of the canoe, and fastened them to the rail of the canoe. They would act as a platform for attaching various cleats, as well as providing strength and reinforcement for the center of the canoe, replacing the center thwart, which was removed.
Result: It worked great!
