Sailing Canoe Topping Lift
Category: Sailing canoe, canoe, cruiser, topping lift, sailboat, mainsail, boat
Problem: The mast and boom rig that I am using from the little dinghy did not have a topping lift. Of course it is important for my cruiser canoe if I wanted to bring down the sails when I wasn’t using them, I certainly didn’t want the boom to fall on top of me.
Action: I added a piece to the top of the mast to extend a connection point aft for the topping lift block and then brought it down to a place to tie it off on the mast.
Superseded: It has been modified when I modified the mast configuration
Result: It worked great!
