Quick Disconnect Block Pin And Potential Becket
Category: Pulleys, blocks, block and tackle, boat, dock
Problem: I wanted a pulley with a becket on it, but these pulleys don’t come with a becket.
Action: I have made several becket variations for use in different conditions with this type of pulley. One is to remove the main pin and replace it with a quick release pin that has a curved catch. That curved catch functions as a becket. However, it is only used when the loads are fairly light.
Result: It works great!

How much time it took to develop: 10 minutes
How much money it took to develop: $2.00
Current status: Available for use.
Since it was originally done: I have formed beckets from bent aluminum strap and stainless steel hose clamps to achieve a similar result for higher loads as I proceed with my tinkering.
