Trolling Motor Bracket for Pontoon Boat
Category: Pontoon, trolling motor attachment bracket, auxiliary motor, fishing
Problem: I bought a pontoon boat that had fishing seats in front and I wanted to find a way of attaching my electric fishing motor such that I could have it there when I wanted or remove it and getting it out of the way when not using it. All of the electric motor brackets have the motor coming up and laying on the deck of the boat. That’s fine for people who primarily fish.
Action: I developed a mounting bracket on a couple of arms that would slide into square tubes secured to the underside of the pontoon boat deck. The bracket could be easily slid in held in place with pins and the small electric motor mounted on the bracket with the controls near the floor of the deck but easily reachable for maneuvering the small pontoon boat.
Result: It works great!
