Pressure Washer Hose Connection
Category: Pressure washer, quick release hose connection, yard
Problem: The basic electric pressure washer that I bought had a plastic quick-disconnect coupler. The female part that screwed onto the hose would not allow the hose to be secured tightly against the washer. The hose had formed threads instead of cut threads, and as the coupling was tightened the plastic would expand slightly and the threads would slip out as pressure was applied.
Action: I applied a hose clamp to the plastic quick disconnect hose fitting and tightened it so when the fitting was screwed onto the hose it no longer expanded and would grip the threads of the hose allowing the water tight connection to be made.
Result: It worked great while the original pressure washer was still operable.
