Air Nozzle Attachment Reinforcement
Category: Air hose, air tools, air nozzle, tool, shop, workshop
Problem: I was using the small air hose nozzle I had acquired from Harbor Freight to clean out my vacuum cleaner. I had finished using the nozzle and set it to the side, and as I was working on the cleaner, doing some other maintenance, the nozzle blew off of the hose, grazing my face near my eye. It turns out that the brass ferrule that the air hose connector screws into came loose.
Action: I reinserted the ferrule and then drilled a hole through the handle and ferrule on the hose connector. I secured it in place using a stainless steel screw.
Result: It worked pretty well but the airflow was reduced by the reinforcing screws.
When idea was conceived: 3/4/15
How much time it took to develop: 30 minutes
How much money it took to develop: None
Current status: No longer used.
Since it was originally done:Used for a while but reduced air flow not satisfactory so not using.
Special note: I recommend purchasing a better nozzle.
