Narrow Hanging Shelves
Category: Household, closet storage, pantry, wall shelves, hanging shelves, basement, garage
Problem: In my basement, in a previous house, I had some wall space available, and I had very many items that really weren’t very large.
Action: I decided to construct a frame with several shelves that were spaced relatively close together that then hung from one point against the wall that allowed me to have ready access to paint cans, aerosol cans, and other items without the shelves taking up much space and not intruding into the space very far, as well as being off the ground so items such as lawn mowers, etc. could be stored underneath. I think on some of the shelves I put a dowel across that acted as a fence to keep the items from falling off.
Result: It worked great! I think I made three of them. Because they were hanging from one point, they could be easily moved. Additional Thoughts: A commercial item that could be adapted could be shelves that hang from the inside of a pantry door.
