Tray Connector For File Cart
Category: File cart, file tray, letter tray, storage, office
Problem: I purchased a small rolling file cart that has a place for hanging files on the top, and then a couple of trays that slide I and out to hold various items. It has really been very handy, because it slides under a desk. However, there are times when I would like to use it as a surface like a credenza, a place to put things. The way it is designed, a tray that is set on top will easily slide off.
Action: I had a serving tray that had a bottom inserted in grooves, leaving a little bit of overhang on the bottom of the tray. I clipped a couple of strips of wood at either end of the file cart top cross beams so it stuck up enough to catch underneath the lip of the bottom. When I sat the tray on it, and accidently bumped it, it stayed on.
Result: It works great!
