Crochet Climbing Rope From Cotton Rope
Category: Exercise, climbing
Problem: As part of my indoor exercise equipment, I wanted a climbing rope. I had some cotton rope but it wasn’t of sufficient diameter.
Action: I crocheted the rope, basically making it three times as thick, so I could grip my hands around it and pull my body weight up for a short distance.
Result: It worked OK, but not great, because it was slippery.
Additional Thoughts: To overcome the slipperiness, some kind of glove could be used, such as a sailor’s or biker’s glove, which would grip the rope securely. My biker’s gloves make a big difference.
