Treadmill Arm Extensions
Category: Household, exercise equipment
Problem: Being 6’-4”, the treadmill arms were very low with no way to raise them on the particular treadmill that I bought. It was uncomfortable to use the treadmill.
Action: I purchased some 1 ½” PVC pipe and a 90 degree elbow and ran the pipe down to the floor so it rested on the floor and then a short piece coming out of the other side of the elbow to use as the arm or hand rest. I measured and cut it at a comfortable length. I then secured the pipe to the upright of the treadmill with hose clamps, one at the top and one at the bottom.
Result: It works great!
