Walking Sticks Connector And Shoulder Strap
Category: Outdoors, hiking, mountaineering, walking, exercise
Problem: I bought a couple of walking sticks that can be collapsed and they are fun to use. However they are a real pain when I want to carry them someplace, either extended or collapsed, because there is not an easy way of keeping them together.
Action: For keeping them together, I made some attaching grommets inserted in duct tape wrapped around the shaft of the upper section near the top and the bottom on both poles. I found an old camcorder shoulder strap, put a grommet at each end, and then connected the strap to the hole with an S biner. When I want to have the holes connected, the S biner then goes through the grommets on the other pole. This can be conveniently carried over the shoulder, either extended or collapsed, and of course, being connected, they don’t get away from me very easily.
Result: It works great!
